After a quiet Christmas Day in Alabama, Phil and I decided to spend the final week of my Winter Break at Two Holt. We stopped by to visit with our son and his family in Cumming, Georgia and arrived in Highlands just before sunset. We spent Saturday settling in and putting up a few winter decorations. I found these mini-wreaths at Hobby Lobby before Christmas on clearance and decided the wreaths would look good all winter. I like the look of the wreaths so much that I've decided to find mini-wreaths for every season. I don't have much wall space to decorate and the mini-wreaths on the windows add a nice touch. I replaced the colorful fall leaves in the little side table lamp with a few frosted evergreen sprigs with red berries. I'll be looking for different items to place in this lamp during each season. The snowman was purchased in one of Highlands shops on Main Street. I plan to leave these decorations up for the remainder of winter. I bought an old pair of ice skates on Ebay and placed a few floral picks inside before hanging the skates on our snow sled by the fireplace. And here's that little corner of the room--all I need is a new winter-inspired pillow for the chair. I missed out on the perfect pillow while waiting for Pottery Barn to put it on sale. It's sold out and no longer available now. :( Outside, I added a Let It Snow sign in the sleeping garden. No snow is forecast this week, but you never know... Phil and I are enjoying reading, watching football, cooking, and clearing the lot behind Two Holt which we bought earlier this year. We met new neighbors behind Two Holt on Wyanoak Road, a nice couple from the Atlanta area who are super excited to have their own place in Highlands. I look forward to getting to know them. Life is good here at Two Holt, friends, life is real good.
