On the way to Jackson Hole Gem Mine we stopped at Dry Falls. We had never taken Luke to Dry Falls. I always love seeing the reaction of a person seeing this beautiful waterfall for the first time. Even the walk down to and around Dry Falls is beautiful.
Saturday morning I called Highlands Aerial Park to check ziplining hours. We ate breakfast, cleaned up a bit and took off for our day's adventure. Unfortunately, I failed to ask if reservations were required and when we arrived we discovered we had to wait an hour for an opening. No problem...we booked it and then took the short hike down to watch the kids on the Brave Indian course from the observation deck. What fun they were having! We hiked back up to the sign-in building and waited for our gear. 10 minutes before we were to begin, we heard thunder moving into the area. Sure enough, the weather radar showed a storm cell moving toward us and other cells just behind. Bad news...probably no ziplining the rest of the afternoon. We rescheduled for Sunday morning and hoped for good weather. Good-natured Luke suggested we drown our sorrows in soft tacos at the local Mexican restaurant, El Azteca. And that's just what we did!
Later that evening we drove into town and Luke had another scoop of his favorite ice cream! We stopped by Kelsey Park to check out the Saturday night concert in the park. Next time we'll bring a football and a blanket like so many others did!
