2013 Highlights
We had another great year at Two Holt. There are certain projects we didn't finish because of a new position I took at work, but overall, we're pleased! So what did we do this year? Well, we added to our garden--two more boxwoods to flank the entrance to our newly screened deck!
We added to the sitting garden and foundation beds; astilbe, Annabelle hydrangea, endless summer hydrangea, liriope, brunnera, stoke's aster, lamium, toad lily, sweetspire shrugs, and hosta. We began the birdbath garden by transplanting daylilies and adding four summersweet shrubs as the garden backdrop.
We added outdoor metal artwork, Birds in the Fountain, to the fireplace chase, lattice underpinning, new railings, and a light fixture on the original side porch.
Phil painted the trim on both decks and we had the front deck screened. Then we furnished the comfy screened deck.
Phil put up bead board walls with trim in the kitchen area and painted the kitchen walls and island. We started the plank ceiling by covering the kitchen ceiling. We are still deciding whether to paint or stain the ceiling.
We met with a designer to take the first steps toward our master bedroom and bathroom addition. I'm thinking 2014 won't show much progress in pictures because it will be the year of saving to pay for the addition...but then again...who knows what the future holds? ;)
