We're finishing up the doors and trim in Two Holt's addition. The picture below is a bit dark, but maybe you can see how the French doors and windows are trimmed. I insisted on nice sized window ledges because I like being able to place things in that space. Each of the guest bedrooms upstairs has two large closet spaces with pocket doors to access the storage. I love that we won't have to dedicate floor space to swinging open a closet door. Bifold doors close off our laundry room. We chose to use a laminate wood throughout the bedroom areas--Sawmill Hickory--which is pictured below. The floor is complete, but has protective cardboard covering for now. We chose subway tile for the upstairs guest bathroom. The natural lighting doesn't show the true color of the accent subway tiles which are a deep gray. I wanted a nice size shower in the master bath and I think it's turning out great! We still need to install the fixtures and frameless glass, but it's shaping up. We added a listello border with a pencil tile frame in the shower. This look will be repeated over the vanity as an extra backsplash. We also included a niche for storing shampoo, body wash, or other items. We designed a 'tile rug' for the floor in front of the vanity. We had enough tile left to tile the ledge in the stairwell to the basement garage. This ledge is just big enough to overwinter a few plants and the tile will be perfect. Next we'll set the soaker tub, both bathroom vanities and toilets, add backsplash to each vanity, and add lighting. Oh...and paint. Geeze! Will we ever finish?
