Two Holt was originally a 600 sq ft 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house. When we added on a little over 1400 sq ft, we took out walls to turn the original 600 sq ft space into the kitchen/dining/living room and cut down the original size of the bathroom as we created a smaller powder room. Here's the original bathroom... In the picture below you can see how much of the wall was taken out when we framed a smaller space for the 2-piece powder room. And here's the framed powder room... We decided on a pedestal sink for this space. The iron framed mirror came from Ballard Designs. It's hard to get a good picture of a small space... I love preserved boxwood. These small containers from Kirkland's add the perfect touch of greenery to the powder room. This picture also came from Kirkland's. The Carolina wren is Phil's favorite bird and the colors in this painting bring out the colors in the oil bronzed sink fixtures perfectly. We still have a bit of touch up painting to do in this room, too. Will it ever end?

Remember Two Holt in the beginning... all 600 square feet of it? Immediately after we bought it in 2012, we took out the wall between the kitchen and living room, added French doors leading out to a newly added screened porch, and put in a small gas fireplace. The bedrooms and bathroom remained the same. Fast forward four years later to 2016. More walls were removed making the original space plus seven additional feet the new open concept kitchen/dining/living room. We added built in bookcases flanking a larger gas fireplace. We vaulted the ceiling in the living room area. You can see in the pictures that we aren't finished. We STILL have painting to do. I'm also looking for a rug for the living room area and window coverings, but we're almost there! I'll share the bathroom to powder room transformation next.
