We decided to cover our block entry steps on the side porch with stone; so, naturally, we asked Pedro to do the job. The block steps didn't appear too bad, but it was just a simple change I had long wanted. As is often the case with simple changes, uncovered problems reveal the need for more extensive work. In this case we couldn't just add a stone veneer over the existing blocks because there was some washing beneath the blocks. We made the call to fix it while the job was being done. Pedro started excavating the old steps. Then he poured a foundation... He rebuilt the steps and covered with a nice flagstone. Here's the before and after... I like it so much more than before. What do you think?

Pedro returned for our Summer of 2017 rock project. This was the wall along our lower driveway... ...and then no wall further up... ...but then Pedro started working. I love how he chisels each stone to fit. Just look at the final project. We're moving several of the rhodies to our back property and then we'll be ready to plant some hybrid rhodies and a few other perennials. It all makes for nice curb appeal!
Garden blooms the first week of July... Don't you just love a garden in bloom?
July 4th is coming and Two Holt is ready! Outside we put our Uncle Sam peeker in the balcony along with fun red, white, and blue lights on both the upper and lower balcony. The lights show up beautifully after dark but I can't get a good picture to show you. We added flags and red, white, and blue to our flowers... We changed up our side entrance by adding a burlap flag wreath and changing our watering can hanger to a flag. The screened porch shows its patriotic colors, too... Step inside and you'll see our patriotic dinner table... On to the living room... Upstairs guest bedroom... And here's the second guest bedroom... We're ready for July 4th and the fireworks!
