We were feeling pretty good that we were taking on this hike just a week after Phil's hernia operation. Not even the young father carrying a three-year-old on his back at double our speed discouraged us--we just kept plodding along. It surely was a welcome sight when we finally saw what we knew was the end of the path. |
The hike down was much easier than the climb up. When we reached our car we decided to drive down the road to take a picture of Whiteside Mountain as viewed from Highway 64. You can see the sheer cliffs of Whiteside on the right in the picture below.
